Spring Break Day 4: Dublin

We awoke early, had a delightful breakfast and made some new friends, then hit the streets of Dublin, using my shady, hazy recollections of my adventures here...

The required tourist-y picture in St. Stephen's Green

Ma insisted that Joe and Da go back to smell the tree... Joe was skeptical, to say the least.
First stop today: the Dublinia! The Viking/medieval museum of Dublin :)
Ma pointing out one of the many 'Thor' references :D

Me and Ma, being Vikings. And yes, I felt the need to be 'gangster'. It's a compulsion of my generation.

This pretty much explains the father-son relationship. Love it.

I decided to throw on a costume just to be silly -- just as a tour group of tiny children plus a costumed guide rounded the corner and shooed me away. I felt ridiculous; hence my really red face. Winning.
Christ Church Cathedral is right next door to the Dublinia, so we did both tours!

There was even a really pretty arched hallway between the two that we got to walk through.

Strongbow's grave (or just a marker of his presence) -- coolest part of Christ Church!

For lunch, we went to The Bull & Castle. Joe enjoying his Galway Hooker ;)

Da enjoying his Mettleman's

Slainte! Ma trying to join in with her coffee

They were supposed to have green beer, which Joe tried to order, but they didn't :(

I want this to be Joe's Facebook profile picture. So much.

An extra area of Dublin Castle, which we didn't go into -- cool little park area.

Teh boys...

We went to the National History and Archaeology Museum for a little, and Ma took this picture before we saw the 'no cameras' sign -- me being really sad about not climbing on the display :(
Me and Oscar Wilde, being skeptical...

An Army memorial in Merrion Square. Ma and I headed back to the hotel after a quick tour of the National Gallery -- the boys had already slunk away to the Guinness Factory at this point.

A cool band of buskers on Grafton Street

DINNER. Dax Restaurant.

Free butternut squash mousse that came before our food. DELICIOUS, and completely random. First indicator of an excellent meal to follow.

My meal -- rabbit leg. The server made a joke about it being an 'Olympic rabbit' since the leg was so big. Super juicy and tender and full of YUM.

Joe, Ma, and Da all got the rib eye steak, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and also full of YUM.

Joe's dessert -- mango and pineapple crumble with mango sorbet. Tangy and YUM.

Me and Da's dessert -- pear and almond tart with vanilla ice cream. Super sweet!

As if that all wasn't enough, we got a post-dessert dessert sampler tray. From left to right: homemade marshmallows with rosewater in them; blueberry marmalade sugar squares; praline bars; apple-shortcake triangles. All phenomenal!!!

Seriously. It's a little spendy, but if you're ever in Dublin, GO HERE.

To prove that it's super fancy and legit, their sign is MADE OF LIGHT. Can you possibly get any cooler? No, I didn't think so.
Exhausting day! I'm still full and pleased with my life. Tomorrow we shop for a little bit, then jet off to Dingle!!!
