Spring Break Day 3: On to Dublin!

Today, we left Mayo and struck out for Dublin. By 10:30 we were on the road, and it took us until 4 to get into Dublin itself. After that, 45 minutes were spent driving around trying to find Number 31, our elusive but delightful hotel/B&B for the duration of our stay here...

Excited to start the trip! Kind of! It was easier driving for Dad today with sleep and less jet lag, so the trip itself was much less tense than the trip from Shannon to Louisburgh.
Joe and his absolute new favorite drink: Lucozade. He's convinced he's going to start selling it at home :)

The back of Number 31, which we found by asking directions at a different hotel and taking two different sketchy back alleys. This itself is in a very sketchy back alley, and I was very concerned upon seeing this...

See? You can barely see the main road, but this alley is so narrow we would've missed it completely without new instructions.

Me and Joe, drinking tea in the reception room. The couches are sunk into the floor, which is cool and trippy. We had a nice chat with a Scottish whisky-selling team while waiting for our room to be ready.

The courtyard between the carriage house (the office building) and the hotel itself (an old Gregorian house)

Doorway to hotel portion :)

Super cool waiting area in the hotel itself.

The room itself!! Very large -- one king bed there, two twin beds, various furnishings, big TV... Impressive, to say the least! And super comfy :3

Ready to hit the town :)

M. O'Brien's pub!

The crew outside of where we ate dinner. M. O'Brien's was the pub below the restaurant The Sussex where we ate a wonderful meal!

Dessert was the best: lemon posset, with berries and a snickerdoodle biscuit. No idea what a posset is, but it was delicious.

Me watching TV. The boys went on a quick jaunt to scout out the town, while Ma and I came back to relax.
Now that we're all caught up to now, we're off to bed soon. Early to bed, early to rise, early to eat an award-winning Irish breakfast, early to hit the city streets and absorb some KNOWLEDGE!!
